What you are deploying into
You step into Hawks, a former Republic officer leading Zero Company, an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire. The campaign pits that company against Kundri Fathom, leader of the Separatist-aligned Infinite Coil. Story choices affect bonds and some elements, but the Launch FAQ says the conclusion is largely the same and there is no romance system. Outfits do not change gameplay.
Standard squad size is up to four; some missions add extra controllable characters. Hawks is required on story missions. If Hawks dies, the mission fails. Roster capacity starts at 7 and can rise to 20 via Den upgrades, story, and authored joins. Custom operators can be created at The Den with adjustable appearance, voice, name, and specialization.
Zero Company is Hawks’ hired outfit, not a Republic battalion you inherit fully staffed. Authored operators join through the campaign; custom recruits are made at The Den. Outfits stay cosmetic. The conclusion is largely the same; there is no romance system in the FAQ.

A first Den cycle
The Den sits in a hangar on the Ring of Kafrene. EA names Holotable, Recruitment, Personnel, Armory, Upgrade, Medbay, Customization, and Memorial. Each cycle offers Operations on the galaxy map (Intel cost, no tactical combat) and Tactical Missions (ground combat). Completing a Tactical Mission advances the cycle. The galaxy map includes over 150 planets for Operations and more than a dozen unique planets for Tactical Missions; first-party examples include Bespin, Dantooine, Lothal, and Ryloth.
Do not invent a recommended first planet or a hidden recruit condition. Use the Holotable still as the map exhibit: it shows Influence, Operations, and Missions tabs and a Vandor crisis line in the capture. Bonds rise via missions, operations, and Call for Backup; max bonds unlock Cross Training passives. Focus Points, earned mainly from bonds, buy Focus Tree upgrades. Intel is the Operation cost named in the glossary; this beginner file will not invent how much Intel a first Operation spends. Completing a Tactical Mission is what advances the cycle, so hanging on the galaxy map forever is a player choice, not a hidden stall.

Install, specs, and controllers
Steam platforms flags are Windows true, mac false, linux false. Minimum: 64-bit Windows 10/11, Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080 / RX 5600 XT / Arc B580, DirectX 12, 50 GB, 1080p 30 FPS Low. Recommended: i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 3700X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 or RX 7800 XT, 1440p 60 FPS High. The Launch FAQ states 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide monitors are supported.
Steam lists DualShock, DualSense, Partial Controller Support, and Xbox controller support. The Launch FAQ says the game is mostly playable with Xbox Series and PS5 controllers on PC, with keyboard needed for some text fields. Steam Cloud, Save Anytime, HDR, Family Sharing, trading cards, and 53 achievements are listed on the store. Open Platforms for the language table and the eleven in-game languages.
DirectX 12 is required on the minimum line. 1080p 30 Low is the minimum target; 1440p 60 High is recommended. 50 GB is the listed install size. Windows 10/11 64-bit only on Steam. macOS and Linux flags are false.
What not to expect at launch
There is no multiplayer mode on the captured store pages. The Launch FAQ states there are no plans for monetization or microtransactions at this time, nothing to announce for DLC or post-launch content beyond Deluxe cosmetics, no New Game+ at launch (later playthroughs unlock certain customization options), and no official mod support. Steam Deck is not verified at launch.
Permadeath: three Injuries permanently remove an operator on standard difficulty unless you toggle the option off. That is a first-party systems fact, not a community rumor. If you need the 3 AP / Overwatch / Advantage primer, continue to Tactical combat. If you need the hangar facilities list, continue to The Den. Save Anytime and Steam Cloud are listed, so a failed mission is not an excuse the store omitted a save flag. HDR is listed as available. Family Sharing is listed. Trading cards are listed. None of those flags add multiplayer.
Accessibility flags on Steam include Color Alternatives and Adjustable Difficulty. Combined with the permadeath toggle, you can lower the ironman pressure without leaving the campaign. Controller support is DualShock, DualSense, Partial, and Xbox as flagged; keyboard still matters for some text fields. Ultrawide 21:9 and 32:9 are supported. Minimum storage is 50 GB. Buy the live SKU, not a remembered $49.99.
Watch the Final Trailer
The official Final Trailer is bound to this route as well as home. Play it from the local still; the facade does not preload a YouTube iframe. Gameplay chapter switches the still. For the Gameplay trailer embed itself, use Tactical combat, which owns that video in the media manifest.
After the trailer, pick an edition only from the live store. This wiki’s captured PC SRP is $49.99 Standard and $59.99 Deluxe with 0 percent discount on 28 August 2026, and those numbers are a capture, not a promise. Deluxe Upgrade DLC 3701350 listed at $9.99 USD on that date. Console SRPs on the same capture window are $59.99 Standard and $69.99 Deluxe. Family Sharing, Cloud, HDR, Save Anytime, and 53 achievements are listed on Steam. DualShock and DualSense are listed. Partial Controller Support is listed. Keyboard is still needed for some text fields according to the Launch FAQ.
